All Estates chips in for charity

As the saying goes "Charity starts at home." And there is no charity more worthy than one that helps children faced with devastating health conditions.

That's why All Estates has become a sponsor of the Wish Upon A Star Foundation's "Chips for Kids" poker tournament charity being held Sunday, July 18.

For more than 26 years, Wish Upon A Star has granted the wishes of more than 1,800 children who are dealing with high-risk or terminal health conditions in California. The non-profit foundation was founded by law enforcement agencies as an effort to bring a little happiness into the lives of youngsters.

The Texas Hold'em poker tournament will raise money to help grant wishes.

"This is really a great charity to support and the tournament will be a fun way to raise money and awareness for Wish Upon A Star," said All Estates General Manager Robert Lee. "Besides just matching wits with your fellow players for a good cause, there will be great prizes."

Gift cards in the amount of $500, $300, and $100 will be awarded to the first, second, and third place finishers. In addition, $50 gift cards will be given to to any player who knocks out one of three bounty players.

There is a $25 buy-in for 2,000 chips, $20 re-buy for 1,500 chips and $30 add-on for 3,000 chips. For a $100 donation, players can get 9,000 chips.

The event will be held at Crawdaddy's Restaurant, 333 East Main St. in downtown Visalia.
